A favourite english expression
It is funny how something that started as an annoyance, ends up taking up a bigger space in your life.
For instance, the verb to go. Of course you know it, one of the most frequently used verbs in the english language, it has the same meaning as the verb “gehen” in german.
It also means to order a drink or a meal that you plan to eat somewhere else, as the Oxford English Dictionary points out . So it also means take-away, like the german phrase zum mitnehmen.
There are plenty of other businesses using that snappy phrase. A petrol station shop brand owned by a big german supermarket, or one of the many car-sharing schemes operating in the city. And of course schools.
The phrase bothered me so much that I used it in the name for the language school I started in 2008. 🙂
