Lend me or borrow me?
Even native english speakers sometimes mix up the verbs borrow and lend. It’s all to do with ownership.
To borrow means to receive “a thing” which you plan to return to the owner. To lend means to give “a thing” that you own to someone else in the hope that you will get it back. If you own that book, you could lend it to someone else. If you don’t own that book, you could borrow it. But don’t forget to give it back!
